  • Dimitris Askounis   -   GIC Director, Associate Professor NTUA, askous@epu.ntua.gr

    Dr. Dimitris Askounis is an Associate Professor of Management Information & Decision Support Systems in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Dr. Askounis has been involved in numerous IT research projects funded by the EU since 1988 (ESPRIT, BRITE-EURAM, FP5, FP6, FP7, CIP) in the thematic areas of eGovernance, eBusiness interoperability, decision support, knowledge management, quality management, computer integrated manufacturing, enterprise resource planning, etc.

    Ioanna Makarouni, Electrical and Computer Engineer, MBA, has more than 14 years of professional record in the fields of: ICT technologies and Software Engineering, Management and Decision Support Systems, Operations & Production Management, Quality Managements systems, and is involved in numerous relevant R& D projects.

    Dr. Harry Tsavdaris is an Electrical and Computer Engineer with a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering. He has more than 15 years experience in analysis of IT requirements, design, development, programming, documenting and testing of IT systems and in the provision of training to their users.

  • Yannis Charalabidis   -   Assistant Professor, University of Aegean

    Dr. Yannis Charalabidis is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems in the University of Aegean and holds a PhD in Complex Information Systems Engineering from NTUA. Currently he is research collaborator at the Decision Support Systems Laboratory of NTUA and heads the Advisory Committee of the centre.


  • John Psarras  -   Professor, Director of DSS Laboratory – host of the GIC

      Dr. J. Psarras is Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and Director of EPU-NTUA. He holds a diploma on Mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. degree on Multiobjective Mathematical Programming applied to Decision Support systems.

  • Iosif Alvertis  -   Researcher, Electrical & Computer Engineer

    Mr. Iosif Alvertis holds a MSc. in Electrical and Computer Engineer from National Technical University of Athens. Currently he is a PhD candidate in the field of eGovernment Information Systems Management. He has two and a half years' experience in information systems and web technologies with special skills in the areas of social media technologies and mobile applications, web standards and formats, management of domestic EC co-founded Projects mainly for the public sector.

    Mrs. Stella Androulaki is Electrical and Computer Engineer (NTUA) and also holds a Computer Science degree (University of Crete) and a Master in Techno-Economic Systems (NTUA). Mrs. Androulaki has computer skills in Visual Basic, C, Java, SQL, XML, Windows, Unix, MS Office.


  • Kostas Ergazakis  -   Senior Researcher, Electrical & Computer Engineer, Ph.D.

    Dr. Kostas Ergazakis is an Electrical and Computer Engineer, NTUA and also holds a PhD in Knowledge-Based Development and Decision Support Systems. Dr. Ergazakis has long professional experience as a consultant / project manager for projects funded by EU (FP7, EuropeAid, etc) and Greek National Bodies in different fields: formulation of digital / knowledge Cities strategies, e-participation, re-organization techniques, monitoring and evaluation, design and development of management information systems, Internet of Services, etc.


  • Manos Ergazakis  -   Researcher, Mechanical Engineer

    Mr. Emmanouil Ergazakis holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering, obtained at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Decision Support Systems Laboratory, NTUA. His research focuses on decision support methodologies and systems for the formulation of digital strategies in urban regions.


  • George Gionis   -   Senior Researcher, Electrical & Computer Engineer, Ph.D. - External Research Collaborator

      Dr. Georgios Gionis holds a Diploma, a MSc. Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineer at National Technical University of Athens and a PhD in Middleware Architectures for Agile Service Orchestration. His work currently focuses in visioning, specifying and delivering new products for promotional campaigns across media and devices in iGaming, using technologies and practices from the domains of social media, analytics and big data in order to deliver a more potent and personalized user interaction.

    Mr. Panagiotis Kokkinakos holds a MSc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an MBA in Techno-Economic Systems. Currently he is a PhD candidate in the field of Decision Support Information Systems.

    Dr. Spiros Mouzakitis is a research analyst for National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He holds a diploma of Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. In 2009, he successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation, entitled "A supportive framework for the capability and interoperability assessment of enterprises for the adoption of B2B integration systems".

    Ms. Anna-Krystalia Mylonaki holds a BSc with Honors degree in Multimedia Computing (Huddersfield UNI) and she is developing expertise in e-commerce, e-learning and Computer Assisted Learning. During her work in NTUA she has obtained knowledge and experience in configuring and maintaining hardware systems and networks, in the development of Web applications incorporating Web 2.

    Mr. Emmanouil Ntanos holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, an MSc in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK and a MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business. As a consultant for the NTUA Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), Mr Ntanos has been involved in several public sector ICT projects including e-governance infrastructures, ICT strategy planning, and private sector subsidy initiatives.

      Demetrios Sarantis is an Electrical and Computer Engineer (NTUA), specialised on Decision Support Information Systems design and development. He has an MSc in Operational Research and Information Systems from London School of Economics. He is a researcher in NTUA in the Decision Support Systems Laboratory and his research focuses on implementation and management methods in e-Government projects.
