Liga para a Proteccao da Natureza (LPN)

Liga para a Proteccao da Natureza (League for the Protection of Nature) is a Portuguese non-profit non-governmental organization with 7500 members. It is the oldest environmental association from the Iberian Peninsula, created in 1948 with the main target to contribute to the conservation of nature, biodiversity and ecosystems.

Besides the Lisbon headquarters, LPN has also delegations in the centre (Coimbra), and in the south (ora and Portim) of Portugal.

LPN aims to assure the preservation of natural resources, which are the basis of sustainability, and to conserve the Portuguese natural heritage for the next generations.

LPN main activities are environmental education and training, direct intervention in environmental issues and development/implementation of conservation and research projects.
